Joanne Adams

Qualified primary teacher, private tutor, educational resource creator and author.

Hello. I’m Joanne Adams and I am the primary teacher, tutor and workbook author behind Happy Hedgehog Learning.

With over 20 years of experience in education, I have seen how easily children lose confidence and self-belief in their mathematical abilities. I also see how stressed and overwhelmed families sometimes feel about SATs and the transition to secondary school too. As a parent of two young adults, I remember feeling the pressure to support them in the best possible way for their final year at primary school.

I created the Year 6 Maths Club to give children clear, step-by-step support through Year 6, helping them strengthen their mathematical foundations, prepare for SATs and approach secondary school with confidence.

I know how busy life can be and not every child can commit to weekly tuition. The Year 6 Maths Club provides flexible, reliable support whenever your child encounters a difficult topic or needs help with their homework.

FAQs

My child has a busy schedule and can’t join a LIVE lesson every week?

Then the Club is the perfect solution. Recorded lessons and downloadable worksheets are unlocked every week for your child to engage with at a time to suit your family.

Do I have to complete all the lessons?

No. You can engage with every lesson or dip in and out of the topics you find tricky or would like more practice with.

Do I have to submit homework?

No. Everything is within the club, including the practice and SATs answers so that you can learn from any mistakes straight away.

Do I have to attend a Zoom session?

No. All lessons are recorded for you to log in and watch at your convenience.

How do I ask questions?

Check the Q&A section to see if the answer has already been provided in there. If not, use the link to submit your question and I will respond quickly.

Do I need a printer?

A printer is not essential as all questions can be viewed on screen and the answers jotted on paper. The answers will be provided for your child to mark their work and learn from any mistakes. From time to time, there may be resources that are easier to interact with via the downloadable print outs but this shouldn’t hold back your child’s progress.

Will my child pass SATs by joining this Club?

The Club provides the teaching and practice needed to support progress, but children must engage regularly with the lessons and resources to gain the greatest benefit. Happy Hedgehog Learning cannot guarantee a child’s attainment level as there are many factors affecting this which are outside our control.

Can I leave the membership at any time?

Yes. You can cancel your membership before your next payment is due. You’ll retain access until the end of your current paid membership period.

I am going on holiday, can I have a payment break for the membership?

No. The membership provides library style access to all the lessons and resources. You are free to access them as much or as little as you wish. Any cancellation of the membership removes access to these resources.

I am a classroom teacher and would like to use these resources with my class, can I download them and print them out?

No. The resources held in this membership are designed for individual members learning at home. If you would like to purchase a school license for unlimited use of these resources in the classroom, please get in touch. [email protected]
